Fall Quarter Orientation for Teaching Assistants

The Center for Teaching and Learning is holding its annual Fall Quarter TA Orientation on Friday, Sept. 19 in the Hewlett Teaching Center, TC-SEQ Plaza. The fall orientation will begin with a Continental breakfast starting at 7:45am in the TC-SEQ patio. Because no food can be taken into the auditorium, those wishing to eat should plan to be at the event no later than 8:00am. The Welcoming Remarks and Introductions will begin promptly at 8:15am.
An intensive introduction to the basic skills and policy information you will need to know
to carry out your duties as a Stanford teaching assistant.
If you have never been a TA before, this is an essential event. And even if you are an experienced TA, you may want to refresh your skills and exchange information with your peers from departments University-wide.

| 11:10 | Concurrent Session 2 (select one of five topic choices: common classroom problems; leading discussions in the sciences, engineering, the social sciences, and the humanities; office hours and review sessions; essential university policies) |

here for map). No pre-registration is required.
There will also be orientations at the beginning of Winter and Spring Quarters:
Winter Quarter: Thursday, January 8, 2009, 1:15 - 4:15 pm
Spring Quarter: Thursday, April 3, 2009, 1:15 - 4:15 pm
We recommend that TAs attend the orientation closest to the onset of their
teaching responsibilities.
